The ultimate pet: A Komodo dragon

LONG BEACH It is the largest living species of lizard, growing to a maximum of 9.8 feet and weighting up to 150 pounds. As a result of their size these lizards dominate anywhere that they live. Natives of Indonesia, Komodo dragons hunt and ambush prey including birds, invertebrates, goats, wild pigs, horses and mainly deer.
Luckily, Bob Ward of rural Long Beach doesn't have to worry about feeding his Komodo dragon, it is carved out of wood. Bob’s cousin purchased it in Bali while on a world tour, after a change of his job location, the cousin bequeathed the dragon to Bob.
The Komodo stretches out over 7 feet long and weighs about 300 pounds. Every scale on its body, claws and facial features are meticulously carved.
To kill the large prey that it does, research-ers have published evidence that show that Komodo dragons possess a venomous bite and found that it secrets a venom containing several different toxins.
