Alberto Macone
Alberto Macone was born in Rochester, New York, in 1971. During his childhood, he moved to Rome, Italy where he still lives. He graduated in Biology, earned a PhD in Biochemistry and currently works as Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy, La Sapienza University and he has co-authored many publications in international scientific journals.
Along this scientific training, Alberto has also developed great artistic skills as self learner, namely in drawing and painting. He received a Mention of Honor in the 16th International Prize of Childhood Illustration Scarpetta d'oro 2011.
He currently works as an illustrator and collaborates with the Italian publisher ELI.
