Gallery: Memories of the Cave, Vancouver, B.C.

Memories of the Cave

Surely the nightclub most missed by Vancouverites is The Cave, an 850-seat icon at 626 Hornby that anchored the downtown entertainment scene for decades. It was called The Cave because the inside was done up to look like one. The coup-de-grace was papier mache stalactites that hung from the ceiling. It sounds bizarre, but in the dim lighting of a nightclub, it kind of looked like a cave, which made it quite cool, and gloriously kitschy.
