This is the Lycurgus Cup. It was made 1700 year ago by skilled Roman craftsmen, and now researchers are studying it to understand a bit more about nanoparticles and nanocrystals. The cup is made of glass that changes colour from red to green depending on whether light is being reflected off it or shining through it.
